NASPA Recognizes the eCHECKUP TO GO

Kevin Kruger, President of NASPA, says “with repeated controlled studies showing significant reductions in destructive alcohol use among college students completing the eCHECKUP TO GO (e-CHUG) online intervention, and with independent review articles acknowledging the effectiveness of the program, NASPA recognizes the eCHECKUP TO GO as a true evidence-based approach that is showing significant results.” Kevin goes on to say that “Given the breadth of mental health and campus community safety issues associated with alcohol abuse, NASPA encourages campuses to give serious consideration to including the eCHECKUP TO GO as a part of their comprehensive AOD prevention strategy.

NIAAA Recognizes Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO as Highly Effective Intervention

The CollegeAIM guide by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse (NIAAA) has named the Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO as a highly effective and lower cost individually-focused intervention.

Alcohol eCHECKUP TO GO:

• Highest rating for research effectiveness
• Low-cost
• Lowest barriers to use
• Short-term (up to 6 months) and long-term (up to a year) effects
• Can be used alone or in conjunction with other interventions, such as BMI and BASICS
